The computer has two drives-- C:\ (OS and programs) and G:\ (data files and backups).
WinNc 8.3.2.0 left panel shows C:\ drive, but the right hand panel is completely blank except for directory menu bar (Filename, .ext, Size, and Date). On the left hand panel, clicking on the down carat on .ext, the selection menu only flashes on and then off.
Clicking on any toolbar or menu items yields "An error occured... " "Thread creation error: ."
What do I need to do to fix this situation?

This was not a problem with WinNC. It was a problem with Win10. For unknown reasons, Win10 decided to lock down different directories on both hard drives. The blank panels were caused by "You cannot access this directory". After doing a system recovery back four days, the issue was resolved.
This question can be marked as closed. I hope the information will help anyone else who runs into a similar problem.
