Support for scp

May 19, 2020In the old days, the quickview feature of Norton Commander v2 for Windows (yes, I'm old), would allow to use "Quick View Plus" to support a whole lot of formats to be viewed. Is there such a functionality in WinNc as well? If so, which alternative viewer would you recommend?

Hi Maarten, you can use the WinNc quickview feature. ALT-F3. This is not exactly like the old days of NC, but you can browse through the viewable files. Also, the thumbs view might help you. CTRL-T
It's been awhile since I set this up so I don't remember if you can view PDF files without this plugin but I use SumatraPDF. I have the SumatraPDF.ini and SumatraPDF.wlx files under the WinNc Plugin folder and list the plugin under the WinNC Viewer Settings. It can be quirky sometimes to make it work but I found that If you hit ALT-F3 while NOT on a PDF file, it works after that when you do click on a PDF file.
BTW, I'm old too and used Quick View Plus with Norton Commander for years.
