Does Explorer show a drive icon for the device in USB3? Does [CTRL-R] help to show the drive icon in WinNc? Do you use a standard USB-drive device or something else (like a phone or camera)? It is known that a phone or camera uses a different protocol and WinNc only supports the standard drive IO.
